ChangeUp is a national programme of capacity building for the infrastructure of the voluntary and community sector, developed in partnership with the sector. The aim of ChangeUp investment is to catalyse the modernisation of infrastructure provision in order to improve its sustainability, quality and reach. Led by sector expertise, the Capacitybuilders agency manages ChangeUp.
In Greater Manchester ChangeUp is managed by a consortium of voluntary and community sector organisations. The lead agency and accountable body is Manchester Centre for Voluntary Organisation. Further information from www.gmvss.net
Manchester Community Information Network
MCIN is a community development organisation, specialising in ICT. They enable hard-to-reach groups and local communities to access all the benefits that ICT has to offer. MCIN are a not-for-profit organisation and charity that enables community-focused organisations to pool and exchange key resources and ideas.
MCIN also provides comprehensive ICT support services to social enterprises and the third sector as part of their Circuit Rider Project www.mcin.net
net:gain centres
net:gain is a highly subsidised national development programme to help leaders of Voluntary and Community Organisations (VCOs) to tackle ICT planning, whatever their existing expertise, organisation size, or area of work. It is funded by Capacitybuilders under ChangeUp, and is tailored and delivered by local net:gain centres. These are also VCOs, members of the UK online network which specialise in ICT training, access and other services. www.net-gain.org.uk

Women's Electronic Village Hall
WEVH is a computer training and resource centre in central Manchester offering a wide variety of tutored and online courses for women with any level of experience.
Courses include Business Applications, Desktop Publishing, Graphics, Web Publishing and Multimedia.
Ada House has well-equipped childcare facilities and is fully accessible for disabled visitors. We have a busy Learndirect drop-in centre where you can practice your skills; no pre-booking needed. We keep classes small, creating a friendly atmosphere where you benefit from lots of individual tuition.
Whatever your reason for wanting to improve your skills, we can help you - not just through courses but also with career choice and employment opportunities, starting or developing your business, volunteer support and networking.
We also have computer training rooms for hire, free use of wide range of software on Mac and PC, offices available for flexible rental, meeting rooms for hire and a creche. We also provide wide range of consultancy services.
