Capcitybuilders have commissioned, in each region of England, an ICT Champion whose role it is to develop the range of local voluntary sector ICT support providers and to signpost voluntary sector infrastructure organisations to use these services.
The North West ICT Champion is Oliver Gibson, based at GMCVO in Manchester.
How will the ICT Champion help?
- By being a champion for ICT. Working regionally and sub-regionally developing ICT strategies and in delivering ICT awareness raising initiatives to local infrastructure organisations
- Through local knowledge, impartially signposting third sector organisations to providers of practical ICT resources and available services
- By identifying existing ICT service providers and then by sharing best practice helping these become more sustainable.
The aim is to see a better co-ordinated and resourced network of local ICT providers supplying relevant and affordable hands-on ICT support, advice and guidance services.
